We drafted this gown with a notched V neckline that sits off the shoulders, held by short cap bands. The knit fabric carries high stretch to stay close through the waist and hips before opening into a fishtail hem. Ruching runs through the body seams to distribute the tension across the torso.

• Neckline and shoulders. The front combines a dropped off-shoulder band with a shallow central V notch. Short knit cuffs keep the line secure around the upper arm, leaving the collarbones open.
• Waist and ruching. Gathers run along the torso seams over a high waist cut. The gathered fabric gives ease through the middle, letting the stretch knit pull close without straining across the back zipper.
• Fishtail hemline. The skirt holds a bodycon line through the thighs then flares out down to the floor. That extra volume at the base balances the fitted hips and gives room to step when walking.
• Stretch knit care. Wash this piece in cold water on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand to protect the elastic threads. Lay the dress flat to dry so the heavy maxi hem does not pull the neckline out of shape.
