We cut this midi dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline anchored by a front twist wrap. The body is ruched along the side seams, keeping the stretch fabric gathered close through the torso down to a midi hem. It pulls on over the head without hardware for evening wear.

• Twist wrap neckline. The open off-the-shoulder neckline crosses over the chest in a fixed twist wrap. Short sleeves sit on the upper arm, keeping the neck and collarbone clear.
• Side ruching. Gathers run down both side seams from the waist through the hips. This ruching distributes the fabric across the torso, so the close fit stays flexible while you walk and sit.
• Stretch jersey fabric. We used a soft, lightweight stretch blend that holds the gathers in place without adding bulk. The fabric recovers its shape after wear and keeps a smooth surface across the black finish.
