We shaped this black mini dress from a flexible ribbed knit that holds close through the torso and hips. The off-shoulder neckline dips into a soft V at the collarbone and rounds gently across the back. It pulls straight on without hardware, finished with fitted sleeves and a classic mini hem.

• Neckline cut. The collar sits wide across the shoulders, dropping into a shallow V shape at the front. The back line curves softly, keeping the neck and collarbone clear while the ribbed band anchors the top edge.
• Ribbed knit fabric. We used a stretchy ribbed knit that expands around the bust and hips before snapping back into place. The vertical wales run top to bottom, creating a clean textured surface across the entire body.
• Sleeve and hem finish. Fitted long sleeves extend to the wrists, ending in neat ribbed cuffs that mirror the lower edge. The skirt finishes mid-thigh, balanced by the coverage of the full-length sleeves for evening wear.
• Care instructions. Machine wash this knit on a gentle cycle in cold water with like dark colors. Lay it flat on a drying rack to keep the ribbed shape from stretching out along the shoulders.
