We cut this piece with a close bodice and an open back, balancing the high boat neckline with exposed skin behind. The skirt springs out from the waist seam into an A-line shape that clears the knee. The knit has enough stretch to hold the torso firm while keeping the hem light and mobile.

• Boat neckline and back. The wide boat neckline runs straight across the collarbone, balanced by an open back cut low enough to clear the shoulder blades. The armholes sit close to prevent gaping.
• Fit and flare cut. We tailored the bodice to hug the ribs down to the natural waist seam. Below the seam, the fabric widens into a flared mini skirt that moves away from the hips as you walk.
• Stretch jersey blend. The fabric is a lightweight jersey knit with smooth surface yarn. It breathes well on hot nights, holds its deep black tone through wears, and recovers its shape after sitting.
