We cut this piece in a rich red jersey that holds its shape while moving with you. The mock neck balances the short hem, while gathered ruching along the body allows the fabric to drape naturally over the hips. It pulls on directly without hardware for an unbroken line.

• Mock neck construction. The band collar sits high on the neck without pinching. It establishes a structured top line that balances the shorter hem and frames the shoulders cleanly.
• Fitted long sleeves. The sleeves are cut narrow down the arm to match the slim fit of the torso. The lightweight knit keeps them close without pulling at the seams.
• Ruched body paneling. Horizontal ruching runs through the midsection into an easy A-line finish. These soft pleats gather the fabric across the waist and allow easy movement when walking or sitting.
• Fabric and laundering. We used a soft stretch knit with enough density to prevent show-through. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and lay flat to dry to keep the collar and gathers crisp.
